AgriTrust Announces Cotton Gin Safety Initiative Winner

AgriTrust of Georgia has announced Tri-County Gin, Inc. of Douglas as the winner of the 2016 Cotton Gin Safety Initiative.  The Cotton Gin Safety Initiative is a program conducted by AgriTrust, a self-insured workers’ compensation fund that services agribusinesses in the state of Georgia, to encourage safety training by its cotton gin members.  Winners receive a $2,000 check if they had no lost time claims during the ginning season.

Tri-County Gin was founded in 1994 by a group of local farmers.  Tri-County Gin has made safety a top priority.  Their philosophy has become, “Anything you track tends to get better” and this has proven true with safety over the past four years.  During ginning season, Tri-County Gin conducts a weekly safety meeting each Monday at 7:00 am.  They continue to hold monthly safety meetings even in the off season. Above all else, Tri-County Gin wants to see each employee return home safely to their families at the end of each workday.  Tri-County Gin plans to reward their employees for “buying into their vision of a safe work environment” by dividing the prize money among it’s very deserving employees.
