2020 Fourth Quarterly Safety Initiative Winner

Hollis Transport Agency, Inc. Winner of AgriTrust of Georgia Quarterly Safety Initiative for 4th Quarter

Bogart, Georgia – January 27, 2021 – No matter the industry you work in, workplace safety should be discussed. AgriTrust of Georgia believes so strongly in the value of talking about safety, we established the Quarterly Safety Initiative to incentivize our members discussing safety with their employees. Anytime a member conducts a safety talk, this could be a formal safety meeting or a talk on the tailgate, they can enter their company into a drawing. A winner is selected every quarter, and the winning business receives a $1,000.00 check. To make things more enticing, if the winner did not have a lost-time claim for that quarter, the amount doubles to $2,000.00. These winnings are given directly to the member and can be used as they deem appropriate. This is just another way to show that safety does pay.

The 2020 Fourth Quarter Winner in the AgriTrust of Georgia Quarterly Safety Initiative is Hollis Transport Agency, Inc. of Flowery Branch, Georgia. Hollis Transport Agency, Inc. was founded in 1979 by Ron Hollis, Sr. and Jamie Hollis. Starting with a single truck delivering newspapers and theatre supplies in Northeast Georgia, Hollis Transport expanded to work with many of the major LTL (less than truckload) carriers. In 1991, Brian Hollis took over the business with a new vision of entering the distribution and warehousing market. A chance meeting during a failed fishing trip (more information on their website www.hollislogistics.com/about), established his first account, and Brian has not slowed down yet. Hollis Transport Agency, Inc. has now grown to include a 40-acre facility with 500,000 square feet of warehouse space to better handle all their customers’ needs.

Having a strong safety foundation is a requirement in the transportation industry. Not only do you have to consider your employees’ actions, but also the actions of everyone else on the road. Unfortunately, the transportation industry is annually one of the deadliest occupations in America, and motor vehicle accidents account for 40% of all workplace fatalities. Thankfully at Hollis Transport, their safety foundation is built off of respect. The leadership believes in showing great respect to their employees and provide them with all the training and resources they need to thrive. They know it is their employees that will continue to make Hollis Transportation Agency, Inc. a leader in their industry. This mindset and dedication to safety has earned Hollis Transport Agency, Inc. a $2,000.00 prize.
